CLASP worked in Fiji from 2004-2005 assisting the Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO), the Fiji Department of Energy (FDOE), the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) of New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC) in assessing the potential for continuing an S&L pilot project, initiated in Fiji, and expanding the initiative to other Pacific Island Countries.

Fuji mapSpecific tasks accomplished by CLASP, in collaboration with the AGO, FDOE, EECA, and SOPAC, in Fiji included technical assistance for cost/benefit analysis; improvements to program design in collaboration with stakeholders; and completing and presenting a final draft roadmap for implementation of the Fiji S&L Program to the Fiji Department of Energy and related stakeholders.

Funding for CLASP’s work in Fiji came from the Australian Greenhouse Office.
