CLASP's Assistance

CLASP supports the SEAD initiative and participating governments by documenting and disseminating S&L best practices; facilitating collaborative policy dialogue; developing rigorous technical analysis and policy recommendations; and providing direct technical assistance to policy makers.

CLASP's targeted assistance includes the following:

Strategic Advice: CLASP provides strategic advice to SEAD leaders on the development and implementation of program activities to ensure that the initiative continues to meet its objectives and delivers tangible policy impacts.

Technical Expertise: CLASP provides technical expertise and support to SEAD by sharing appliance efficiency best practices and technical advice with policymakers; synthesizing development of appliance efficiency impact and assessment models; partnering with international experts to analyze global appliance and equipment efficiency opportunities and conduct product-specific technology assessments and incremental cost analyses; and managing the development of government procurement software tools.

Facilitation: CLASP facilitates government involvement in the SEAD initiative by providing training and staffing support to develop local technical and programmatic expertise; conducting country-specific gap analyses and impact estimates; and developing Monitoring, Verification, and Enforcement (MV&E) regimes to support increased S&L program compliance.

Administrative and Programmatic Support: CLASP provides administrative and programmatic assistance for all areas of the SEAD initiative. CLASP activities include developing and maintaining the superefficient.org website; conducting public outreach to raise international awareness of the SEAD program and its contributions to global S&L activities; and planning and organizing international collaboration and information sharing activities.
