Mandate issued in 2004, followed by regulation in 2007

From the beginning of 2007 each refrigerator sold on the Tunisian market must have an energy label class of 4 or better (i.e. EU label class C or better)
From the beginning of 2010 each refrigerator sold on the Tunisian market must have an energy label class of 3 or better (i.e. EU label class B or better)

In 2010, the following actions were undertaken:
• The publication of a joint decree on minimum energy performance to prohibit the marketing of refrigerators class 4 and 5 from 1 January 2012.
• The publication of a joint decision on the classification power to prohibit the marketing of Class 3 air conditioners from 1 January 2011.
