NOM-011-ENER-2006 defines the mandatory energy label. The label
indicates the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) in Wt/We and
includes a horizontal continous scale indicating at the left end of the
bar the minimum SEER established by NOM-011-ENER-2006. The continuous
linear scale indicates energy efficiency improvement as a percentage of
the minimum SEER until a maximum of 50% at the right end of the bar
(see Section 10 and Appendix A of NOM-011-ENER-2006)
The
test method is defined in Section 9 of NOM-011-ENER-2006. It is similar
to ANSI/ASHRAE 37: Method of testing for rating unitary
air-conditioning and heat pump equipment. The test method of
NOM-011-ENER-2006 is defined for unitary cooling systems only and does
not cover Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF).
NOM-011-ENER-2006 also defines the mandatory minimum efficiency level for this product.
