Chinese Taipei has announced the mandatory energy efficiency labels of air-conditioners and refrigerators, and will be effective from July 1, 2010. While importing or manufacturing the products, the product manufacturer or importer (“dealer”) shall label the product with the energy efficiency rating of the product, determined based on the product’s measured Energy Efficiency Ratio (EEF) as stated in the test report on product safety requirements, issued by a BSMI-accredited goods inspection and testing laboratory, and the rating criteria as defined in the Criteria for Energy Efficiency Rating of Window/Wall-type Air Conditioners (see Table 1) and Criteria for Energy Efficiency Rating of Box-type Air Conditioners (see Table 2). |
