AEEG, Regulatory Authority for Electricity and Gas
The Regulatory Authority for Electricity and Gas is the independent body which regulates, controls and monitors the electricity and gas sectors and markets in Italy. The Authority's role and purpose is to protect the interests of users and consumers, promote competition and ensure efficient, cost-effective and profitable nationwide services with satisfactory quality levels. The Authority also provides an advisory and reporting service to the government and parliament, and formulates observations and recommendations concerning issues in the regulated sectors for which the legislator is directly competent.
