Country updates on Computer & Servers programs

Description of Energy Stars Process for the development of Test Procedure for Blade Servers, active mode and Server Idle, see presentations sent with the invitation to the webinar.

As ES presentations were very long and detailed, AF proposed to prepare a summary of their presentation and send them to all participants to ensure a better understanding and follow up by the group on what is going in the US on Servers

CNIS is developing Test procedure for computers considering ENERGY STAR 5.0 and ECMA 383. Regarding servers, CNIS is in process of developing a test procedure considering ENERGY STAR 1.0 with slight modifications and considering a Local Test Procedure.

At this stage, BEE didn’t start the development of test procedure. ENERGY STAR test procedures are under consideration.

Due to the absence of the representative from the EC, the update on the EU program has been presented by YS.

The EC will adopt on October 2010 a MEPS regulation for computers & servers based on last update of ENERGY STAR test procedures and requirements with slight differences.

Discussion on test procedures for computers & Servers

CNIS, EC and BEE will adopt ENERGY STAR test procedures for Computers & Servers with slight differences. It was agreed that the extent of the modification should be known in order to assure comparability. CNIS, BEE & EC will compose a detailed description of the modifications considered and send them to YS. She will collect the descriptions and send them to the group.
