My Ton served as Team Leader–Energy Efficient Lighting, for the Environmental Cooperation-Asia Clean Development and Climate Program (ECO-Asia), a US Agency for International Development (USAID) funded regional project based in Bangkok, Thailand. My oversaw all aspects of the ECO-Asia energy efficient lighting program, which focused on market and technical research, as well as the analysis, synthesis, evaluation and dissemination of this information to relevant policymakers in the region. Most recently he served as a Technical Advisor for the United Nations Environment Programme’s en.lighten initiative, providing input for the Technical and Policy Task Force’s development of a toolkit for the phase-out of inefficient lamps.

Prior to ECO-Asia and en.lighten, My Ton served as Research Director and Senior Program Manager for Ecos Consulting - a mission-based environmental consultancy that he co-founded. In this role, My led research projects focused on the evaluation of environmental and energy-efficient technologies, programs and standards. Also, he helped to create standards as well as conceptualized programs for the delivery of energy-efficient products into markets, including the first US ENERGY STAR® program for residential light fixtures.

My has been recognized for a number of projects that he managed, including the 2006 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for Puget Sound Energy’s Lighting Program, and the PG&E’s Flex Your Power’s Honorable Mention for Innovation in 2007 for his work on the DC Power for Data Center Demonstration project.

My Ton holds an M.S. in Engineering and Public Policy from the Sever Institute of Technology, Washington University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and History from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University.

My Ton will join CLASP on January 3rd 2012. Please join us in welcoming our newest CLASP team member!
