CLASP worked in Poland from 2000-2001 assisting Poland’s National Energy Conservation Agency (KAPE) and Ministry of Economy in stimulating interest in and establishing a network for the development of S&L in Poland.

Poland mapSpecific tasks accomplished by CLASP, in collaboration with KAPE and Poland’s Ministry of Economy, in Poland included developing a baseline understanding of MEPS potential in Poland; identifying and convening stakeholders to this end; establishing and supporting a task force for MEPS and in the development of an S&L work plan; and accelerating stakeholder participation in labeling at a critical time when Poland was adapting and starting to implement the EU energy label due to EU accession. Additionally, CLASP completed the report Household Appliance Energy Labels in Central and Eastern Europe: A Policy Analysis of their Effectiveness in Removing Market Barriers to Energy Efficiency  (July 2002).

Funding for CLASP’s work in Poland came from the United Nations Foundation (UNF).
